Brionvega Totem RR130 is a true design gem among hi-fi systems. It was designed in 1970 by the famous architect and designer Mario Bellini, winner of eight Compasso d’Oro awards. As a result, it represents the pinnacle of the fusion between function and form and is somewhat like an iceberg: austere on the surface, surprisingly deep inside. When closed, it appears as a minimalist cube measuring 51 × 51 cm. But when opened, it unfolds into a full-fledged hi-fi system that offers intense emotions and creates a pleasant space for sharing special moments with family and friends. In terms of sound, it resembles tube amplifiers with a warm, soft tone and subtle musicality that contrasts with Japanese models of the time. It rightly became part of the MoMA collection in New York and continues to fascinate not only design lovers but also audiophiles around the world.
