The Bells In Vue cylinder music box was most likely crafted in the workshop of Swiss builder B. A. Brémond, who in 1873 was appointed the official manufacturer of music boxes for His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales—the future King Edward VII of England.

At the heart of the device is a 16-centimeter cylinder paired with a single-piece tuned steel comb, three bells adorned with floral finials, and butterfly-shaped strikers.

The veneered wooden case features an engraving of a battleship on the lid and a royal coat of arms on the front panel. Inside, when the lid is lifted, a colorful tune sheet is revealed, listing 10 melodies that were popular during its time.
