C. Lorenz AG was another German company (founded in Berlin by Carl Lorenz in 1880) that initially focused on telegraph and signaling equipment for railways. However, the advent of radio opened up exciting new opportunities, and the company quickly expanded into the production and sale of telephones and radio technology.

Their model NEW 032, also known as the "Ordensmeister 3G"—which translates to "Master of the Order"—historically references the title held by leaders of knightly orders, such as the Teutonic Knights. Why Lorenz chose this name for their radio remains a mystery; perhaps it was inspired by the simplicity and color of its cabinet. Nevertheless, its appearance neither stands out nor particularly delights the heart.

An interesting detail is that this model was powered directly from the mains with direct current, a common setup in urban areas during the 1930s before uniform voltage and alternating current became the standard. This design omitted a transformer, saving both space and production costs but also presenting certain safety risks.
