Rock-Ola 1464 – Music Vendor from the Late '50s

The Rock-Ola 1464, introduced in 1958, is a type of jukebox known as a Music Vendor — an elegant wall-mounted model that perfectly captures the transition from 1950s nostalgia to the modern spirit of the 1960s. With its transparent front panel revealing the record-changing mechanism, clean lines, chrome accents, and subtle lighting, this jukebox brought music even to places where there was no room for full-size floor models.

It was produced by the legendary Rock-Ola Manufacturing Corporation, a company that had shaped jukebox culture since the 1930s. The 1464 model offered a selection of 60 records, allowing for up to 120 songs, and its compact design made it ideal for bars, cafés, and public spaces.

The mechanical changer was visible through the front glass, turning every selection into a small visual performance. And while it wasn’t as flashy as some of its competitors, it stood out with its reliability, technical clarity, and distinctive retro style.
