Western Electric Candestick

Description

The Western Electric Candlestick 20B is a true classic of American telephone history and one of the most iconic models ever made. These telephones were manufactured for a long time, roughly from 1904 through the 1930s. The manufacturer — Western Electric Company — was the main supplier of devices for the Bell System (today’s AT&T). It required connection to a so-called subscriber set – an external box containing a buzzer and circuits. It was used in homes, offices, and public institutions. Today, it is a highly valued collector’s item, often still fully functional on modern phone lines.
